THE ROLE  

We are seeking a detail-oriented Sales Compensation Analyst to join our team and play a critical role in managing, analyzing, and optimizing our sales compensation programs. This position requires strong analytical skills, systems expertise, and the ability to collaborate effectively with sales, finance, and operations teams to ensure accurate and timely commission processing while driving process improvements. 

Key Responsibilities 

Commission and Compensation Management 

  • Track and calculate sales commissions accurately across multiple compensation plans and territories 
  • Manage end-to-end commission processing, including validation, approval, and dispute resolution 
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of all compensation plans, policies, and procedures 
  • Ensure timely and accurate commission payments to sales team members 
  • Handle commission disputes and work with stakeholders to resolve discrepancies 

System Administration and Reporting 

  • Administer and maintain compensation management systems, with expertise in CIQ (CaptivateIQ) or similar platforms 
  • Generate regular pipeline reports and sales performance analytics 
  • Create and maintain Salesforce reports and dashboards related to quota attainment and performance 
  • Develop automated reporting solutions to improve efficiency and accuracy 
  • Ensure data integrity across all compensation-related systems 

Incentive Program Management 

  • Collaborate with Sales Leadership to design, implement, and track sales incentive programs and special promotions 
  • Monitor program effectiveness and provide recommendations for optimization 
  • Coordinate recognition programs and ensure proper tracking of achievement milestones 
  • Support the development of new incentive structures based on business objectives 

Bookings and Revenue Management 

  • Track and validate sales bookings for commission eligibility 
  • Collaborate with finance team to ensure alignment between bookings, revenue recognition, and commission calculations 
  • Maintain accurate records of deal modifications, cancellations, and adjustments through direct collaboration with sales team members to ensure data integrity and timely processing  
  • Support month-end and quarter-end closing processes 
  • Utilize Salesforce reports to quality control and validate booking accuracy, ensuring data integrity across deal records and revenue recognition processes 

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

  • Partner closely with Finance team on revenue recognition and commission accounting and accruals 
  • Work closely with Marketing team on lead processing and territory alignment 
  • Work with Sales leadership to align compensation programs with sales processes 
  • Work closely with HR in new hire setup and compensation plan communications 
  • Support Sales Leadership with compensation analysis and planning 

Process Improvement and Analysis 

  • Identify opportunities to streamline compensation processes and improve efficiency 
  • Develop and implement best practices for commission administration 
  • Conduct regular audits of compensation calculations and system configurations 
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on compensation data analysis 

Required Qualifications 

  • 4+ years of experience in sales compensation, finance, or business operations 
  • Previous experience with compensation management systems (CIQ preferred) 
  • Demonstrated experience with Salesforce reporting and administration 
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis 
  • Strong Salesforce reporting and dashboard creation skills 
  • Familiarity with financial systems and ERP platforms 
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data management 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities 
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to explain complex compensation concepts 
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines 
  • Experience with process improvement and project management

Compensation Information

Pursuant to state and local law disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience and location is $80,000 to $90,000 per year. This position may be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance and is not guaranteed.
