ROLE

Provide legal support to the entire company, with a primary focus on providing legal support to the compliance team, sales team and executive staff. Projects will include (i) the drafting and negotiating of confidentiality agreements for the company’s current and prospective clients and vendors, as well as clients’ vendors, and (ii) the drafting and negotiating of various agreements between the company and current or prospective clients. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reviewing, negotiating, and drafting agreements on behalf of the company, including the handling of client redline requests. 
  • Reviewing and negotiating contracts with the company’s vendors as part of the onboarding process. 
  • Advising other departments and fellow employees on a variety of legal issues, including providing clarification on legal language or specifications; assisting the compliance team in handling client vendors; assisting the sales team with negotiations/conference calls/etc.; and collaborating with other departments as needed for special projects (e.g., assistance in policy creation/review, assistance with correspondence related to legal matters, etc.). 
  • Providing legal assistance to executive staff within the company. 
  • Providing assistance in response to client requests. 
  • Providing training and/or instruction on legal topics to the company. 
  • Managing the storage, updating, retention and limited distribution of company’s due diligence documentation. 
  • Assisting and working with outside counsel, as required. 
  • Assisting and working with other teams throughout the company, as required.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited institution and maintaining a valid license to practice law throughout employment. 
  • Strong analytical, research, interpersonal and presentation skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels of the organization. 
  • Strong negotiating skills with both legal and financial/commercial issues. 
  • High degree of professionalism, especially with regard to demeanor, ethics, integrity and confidentiality. 
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships within the organization and across all departments. 
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision to deliver error-free work product under time pressure.

Compensation Information

Pursuant to state and local law disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience and location is $80,000 to $100,000 per year. This position may be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance and is not guaranteed.
