JOB DESCRIPTION 

Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Assistant Controller position offers the opportunity to work in a high paced, growth-oriented SaaS company.  This role focuses on managing billing & revenue processes in NetSuite to ensure accurate revenue recognition in compliance with accounting standards and regulations (ASC 606).  Additionally, the ideal candidate for the position will lead day-to-day accounting functions, review and approve direct report’s work and assist the controller with other accounting related projects that improve processes and controls  

Essential Functions  

  • Oversee the day-to-day billing operations, including approving Sales Orders, Credit Memos, Invoicing, and Adjustments, 
  • "Super-user" of NetSuite ERP system including being the NetSuite Administrator, 
  • Experience in a software company with subscription-based business and ensuring compliance with all software revenue recognition requirements, 
  • Manage a team of 6 billing specialists, 
  • Assist with the accounting operations including financial reporting, and general ledger,  
  • Manage multiple month-end close processes and ensure timely and accurate close and reporting cycles, 
  • Assist the Controller with projects, as assigned, 
  • Assist with year-end audit requests and be a key point of contact for audit, 
  • Create financial reports for senior management across multiple departments, as requested, 
  • Responsible for compliance with all federal, state, and local corporate, payroll, and other applicable taxes. 

Competencies & Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited institute of higher education 
  • 8+ years’ experience in accounting and finance 
  • CPA 
  • NetSuite experience required 
  • Great people skills, including written and verbal communication 
  • Experience in a software company with subscription-based business 
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a willingness to work with a high degree of autonomy. 
  • Experience processing payroll 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Public accounting experience preferred. 

Travel 

  • Minimal travel required for the position (5-15%).

Compensation Information

Pursuant to state and local law disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience and location is $130,000 to $140,000 per year. This position may be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance and is not guaranteed.
